Flame Retardant Grade: FR70R

Flame retardant silicone rubber applications

TECHNICAL DATA – July 2011

Flame retardant silicone rubber is available in one grade from Advanced Materials, FR75RP, which is detailed below.

FR75RP is a flame retardant grade of silicone rubber

Flame retardant silicone rubber is designed for use in the production of items with the following specifications:

Fire resistance

  • Flame resistance-vertical combustion: classification UL 94 VO, 3mm
  • Limit oxygen index (norm NF T 51071, 1985),%, approx. : 35.
  • Incandescent wire (norm NF C 520455:class I2,( class I2= limit oxygen index ³ 32%, without flaming of the elastomer during and after application of the incandescent wire at 850° C

Opacity and toxicity of fumes

  • Smoke opacity to AFNOR norm NF X 10702 Smoke Index : S.I. approx. . : 6.
  • Smoke toxicity to AFNOR norm NF X 70100 Conventional Toxicity Index : CIT. Approx. : 2.7
